On an island off the coast of Maine, lies a house- but not this one... yet.

On an empty lot next to their current large shingle style house, the client wishes to create a new modern house that preserves the best qualities of that particular spot, on that particular coast, with the same spectacular sunset views.

The layout mimics parts of the old house layout and spatial proportions. Antiques, old masters, plaster maquettes and sculptures will inhabit and contrast with the modern house materials.
