Table SW03
New York City
Constraints can help make a better design.
The client wanted a table of certain dimension- not so wide so as to be far from the person seated across; and a table that could seat 6 typically and more, if spaced closer.
The materials are blackened steel with oxidized bronze to tie in with other pieces in the room. The steel sandwiches the bronze to give not only really structure, but visual support. The four corners aren't simply held by four posts, but an elegant curved shape that meets and connects the four legs together, there the bronze peeks through at the four corners and also at the meeting point in the center.
